Superhumanly Strong Girl

     I wanted to tell you about a beautiful storybook😍 I read when I was a kid. The book is “Pippi Longstocking”. It was written by Astrid lindgren. It has also been translated into Sinhala and the title of the book is “Pippi Diga Mes”. This book was translated into sixty-two languages so it is a very famous storybook. Pippi means "quirky" in old Swedish slang.

          Pippi is a little girl👧. But she is powerful and brave. She has red hair and speckle. She has superhuman strength and is easily able to lift her horse with one hand. Pippi only really gets angry😠 when someone treats her horse badly. Her mother died soon after her birth. She is the daughter of a pirate captain and has adventurous tales to tell. With her suitcase of gold coins, Pippi maintains an independent lifestyle without her parents. Her horse🐎, Mr. Niliyan who is a monkey🐒, and the neighbor’s children Tommy👦 and Annika👧 are her best friends.

       The first movie about “Pippi Longstocking” was filmed in 1949. It was directed by Per Gunvall and released on October 20, 1950. A television series has also been created based on the story.

                            Despite periodic attempts by village authorities to make her conform to cultural expectations of what a child's life should be, Pippi happily lives free from social conventions. she makes not the slightest attempt to adopt good manners. She is the self-proclaimed "strongest girl in the world"💪. I think she is a kind girl with a warm heart💓.

                            However, Pippi Longstocking is a very funny Story Book😜. We must be kind, loyal, and powerful like that Pippi. I think you have read that book too.
